Protests by Teachers in Jagtial District Over Education Policy Implementation

Secondary Grade Teachers (SGTs) staged protests during lunch breaks at ZPHS Indupur and other schools, opposing the implementation of GO No. 25 and demanding its withdrawal or amendment. These protests were part of a larger movement across the state. The teachers protested against measures taken in the name of Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN), which they argued increased their workload. The protests also coincided with an alleged suicide attempt of a teacher from Silvokodur school in Jagtial district due to severe pressure.

The teachers demanded that the government ensure one teacher for each class and reduce the existing teacher-pupil ratio to 1:20. They also called for relief from non-teaching duties so that they could focus on classroom instruction. The protests represent a direct challenge to the state's education policy regarding the implementation of GO No. 25.
