What happened
Raglan Mine received national recognition, including a Canada's Clean50 Award and a Canada's Clean16 Award, for its work in critical-mineral production in northern Quebec. The mine also reported that its $500+ million Sivumut Project, which includes the Anuri underground mine, opened in February 2024 ahead of schedule and under budget. This project could extend operations beyond 2040, supporting Canadian nickel production and more than 1,000 jobs.

Why it matters
The recognition reflects the mine's approach to combining long-term economic growth with environmental performance and Indigenous participation. The mine's use of a 6 MW wind and 3 MW battery system displaced 3.19 million litres of diesel and avoided 8,900 tonnes of GHG emissions in 2025.
Gold exploration is currently underway in the Abitibi region of Quebec.
