Gachagua Warns of Closure for 53 Companies Producing Illicit Alcohol

Democracy for Citizens Party leader Rigathi Gachagua warned of potential action against 53 companies accused of manufacturing and distributing illicit alcohol. Gachagua stated that these companies face closure if the United Opposition gains power after the next general election. He further warned that an administration led by his political camp would not allow the businesses to continue operating in Kenya.

The warnings target businesses accused of producing alcoholic products that Gachagua said were putting lives at risk. He alleged that some firms continued operations by bribing senior government officials.

Rigathi Gachagua was in the United States for engagements, including hosting a diaspora caucus in Dallas.
