SANRAL plans R25 billion debt raise for Gauteng road upgrades
What happened
The South African National Roads Agency Limited plans to raise R25 billion in debt finance to upgrade critical road networks. Last year, the agency raised more than R4.6 billion to fund current projects, including the Gauteng Freeway Improvement Programme, which is estimated to cost R20 billion. SANRAL expects to invest approximately R25 billion in freeway construction over the next two years.
