Young Health Programme Extends Investment to Over $100M with UNICEF
What happened
The Young Health Programme (YHP) has announced a new five-year phase of its partnership with UNICEF, involving 60 non-governmental organizations (NGOs). This extension builds on the programme's investment since 2010, which has already exceeded $100 million. The initiative focuses on preventing conditions such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease, and lung disease by educating youth in underserved communities. Research by RTI International found that the YHP generates a social return on investment of $4.30 for every $1 invested.

The programme aims to reach an additional 10 million young people, train 800,000 youth advocates, and influence 17 public policies worldwide by 2030.
