Francesco La Camera, director general of the International Renewable Energy Agency, stated that Saudi Arabia is accelerating its transition to renewable energy, expanding its solar and wind sectors and moving fast with green hydrogen. The Saudi Arabia Renewables Tracker, published by the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center, indicates that the Kingdom's cumulative operating renewable-energy capacity reached 19.3 GW in 2026, a more than 63-fold increase since 2020.
