What happened
Skagit County requested assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency to replace a pedestrian bridge on the Cascade Trail in Hamilton. The bridge, which was about 100 years old, was knocked off its pilings during December flooding. Environmental regulations required the removal of remaining creosote pilings, which contractor Morgan Treeworx completed between September 30 and October 2.
