Groundbreaking Ceremony Launches Giseke Agricultural Irrigation Project in Rwanda

A groundbreaking ceremony was held for the Giseke Agricultural Irrigation Project in Southern Province, Rwanda. The event was attended by the Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda, who noted that China supports the project as part of the Global Development Initiative. The ceremony was also attended by Dr. Télésphore Ndayambaje, Minister of Agriculture and Animal Resources of Rwanda, and Alice Kayitesi, Governor of Southern Province.

The project is viewed as a successful outcome of China-Rwanda cooperation under the Global Development Initiative framework. It is aligned with Rwanda’s National Strategy for Transformation (NST2) and aims to contribute to poverty reduction and agricultural development outcomes.
