Prospective Data Center Developer Offers Over $1.1 Million for Marshalltown Land

Swarm Systems offered the city over $1.1 million for approximately 21.77 acres of city-owned land in the Edgewood Industrial Park. The offer was contingent on the city's existing moratorium on data center development having expired, been lifted, or been terminated as applied to the property. The company had previously made an initial offer of $1,113,200 for a larger parcel of land. The revised offer included a closing timeline of on or before March 31, 2027.
