Tajikistan Launches AI Innovation Hub with Nvidia Support
What happened
Tajikistan is establishing Central Asia’s first AI Innovation Hub, which is being developed on the Area AI platform in Dushanbe with support from Nvidia. The hub, which plans to include a physical lab in Khujand, aims to integrate Physical AI technologies into the country's industrial sector. Azizjon Azimi, Chairman of the Artificial Intelligence Council under Tajikistan’s Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, outlined plans for specialist training in cooperation with Nvidia. The initiative was presented at the NVIDIA GTC Berlin 2026 international conference.

Why it matters
The establishment of the hub aligns with state policy priorities in Tajikistan, as emphasized by Tajikistan's Ambassador to Germany. The project supports the objectives of a UN General Assembly resolution on the role of artificial intelligence in the sustainable development of Central Asia, adopted in July 2025 at the initiative of Emomali Rahmon. This move positions Tajikistan as a regional leader in AI technology adoption.
President Emomali Rahmon has recently commissioned new industrial projects in the region of Tajikistan.
