What happened
Telix Pharmaceuticals Limited agreed on September 21 to acquire ITM Isotope Technologies Munich SE. The deal is valued at up to $2.35 billion. Telix will pay $1.65 billion upfront, primarily using its own stock, with a further $700 million contingent on ITM’s lead drug meeting sales targets and gaining approval.

Why it matters
The acquisition allows Telix to control the supply of lutetium-177, a key radioactive isotope used in cancer treatments. This move removes a scheduling risk and supplier margin for Telix. Telix is also currently a main outside supplier of this isotope to Novartis’s Pluvicto drug.
