PA DOT to Direct $32 Million in Federal Funding for EV Chargers in Eastern Pennsylvania

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced it will direct $32 million in federal investments to build electric vehicle (EV) chargers in eastern Pennsylvania. This funding is part of the Community Charging phase of the federal National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program. The total funding directed through these rounds exceeds $100 million for public EV charging stations in Pennsylvania communities. The announcement was made on September 20, 2026.

The investment strengthens Pennsylvania's role as a leader in the NEVI program. The Shapiro Administration stated that this funding allows for EV charger funding for every Pennsylvania community. Applications for this funding are open until March 12, 2027.
