Coalition Plan Repeals Climate Targets, Lifts Nuclear Ban

The federal Coalition released an eight-point plan that, if elected, would repeal almost every aspect of Labor’s climate and energy policy within 30 days. The plan includes scrapping net zero targets, abolishing the industrial emissions scheme, and removing the long-running ban on nuclear power. It also proposes abandoning four offshore wind zones and canceling the existing carbon emissions policy for vehicles.

The sweeping policy changes shift the energy focus away from renewables and toward fossil fuels, encouraging investment in coal, gas, and nuclear power. This contrasts sharply with Labor's existing goal of powering over 80 per cent of the national grid with renewables in the next four years.
