What happened
ANC NEC member Andile Lungisa stated that the Coega Development Corporation should report directly to the Nelson Mandela Bay metro and revert to its initial operating mandate. He asserted that if he takes over as mayor, the CEO and board of Coega will account to the municipality, not the provincial government. Coega currently accounts to the Eastern Cape provincial government.
