Local Food Hub Expands Partnership with Rancher for School Lunches

Junction Elementary School is expanding its farm-to-school program by sourcing produce and beef locally to support Northstate farmers and ranchers. The school now sources 60 percent of its produce from local farmers. Happy Valley Fresh Food Hub manages the logistics for the program, which currently serves 100 schools in the Northstate. The Hub recently began working with Elwood Ranch to supply fresh ground beef to the school.

The initiative supports the farm-to-school model by integrating local agricultural products into a school meal program. This partnership helps sustain the business of Happy Valley Fresh Food Hub, which handles weekly pickups and deliveries for its clients. The program also supports the economic viability of local producers in the region.
