The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is enforcing its Automated Work Zone Speed Enforcement Program across all nine of its vehicular crossings in New York City. Mobile speed cameras track drivers traveling more than 10 mph above the posted speed limit at active construction and maintenance sites. Fines begin at $50 for a first offense, rising to $75 for a second offense within 18 months, and $100 per subsequent offense after two warnings.
