Sun Valley Tourism Forecast Shows Strong September Bookings, Cautious Winter Outlook

Visit Sun Valley shared its latest tourism forecast, indicating a busier-than-usual slack season but a below-average winter. As of August 31, lodging bookings for September, October, and November were up year-over-year, showing increases of 26.7%, 32.6%, and 22.1% respectively. September bookings were bolstered by the shift of Labor Day weekend and the Rebecca’s Private Idaho bike race. October and November are benefiting from various events, including the Mountain Towns 2030 Climate Summit and group business.

The forecast suggests strong revenue potential for the fall season due to various festivals and events. However, the outlook for the winter season is cautious due to a lingering effect from limited snowfall in the previous year. The overall economic health of the region remains tied to these seasonal trends.
