UAE Selected to Host 2029 World Bank and IMF Annual Meetings
What happened
The United Arab Emirates will host the 2029 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group in Abu Dhabi. IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva announced the selection on October 19, 2026. The decision to hold the meetings in Abu Dhabi was approved by the boards of governors of both institutions in April 2026.
