Fairfield Recognizes Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Week and Resource Value

The Solano County Board of Supervisors recognized September 20–26 as Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta Week in Fairfield. During the week, Supervisor Wanda Williams stated that the Delta hosts 500,000 acres of agricultural land that supports worldwide food distribution. Furthermore, the Delta provides a portion of water for approximately 27 million Californians and serves as habitat for 750 species of plants and animals.

The recognition highlights the critical role of the Delta in regional resource management. The agricultural productivity supported by the Delta impacts global food supply chains and regional water security for those relying on the system.
