Major Utility Outage Affects 650,000 People in Vladivostok Region

A major utility outage has affected the Far Eastern Primorye region, impacting over 650,000 people, according to local emergency officials. The incident began with an equipment failure at a power substation in the village of Shtykovo, leaving more than 1,000 people without electricity. This failure subsequently cut power to regional pumping stations, affecting homes, apartments, and public buildings in Vladivostok.

The outage affected essential services, including power and water, to critical infrastructure such as hospitals and schools in Vladivostok. Separately, Russia's Prosecutor General's Office has designated The Moscow Times as an "undesirable" organization, following previous labeling as a "foreign agent."
