Vectus Plans Manufacturing Facility in Poland for Air Defense Systems

Vectus announced plans to establish a manufacturing facility in Poland for its air defense systems. This development follows a nonbinding memorandum of understanding between Vectus and Swarmer, a drone autonomy platform company in which Vectus has a 20% interest. Under the agreement, Vectus confirmed its intent to purchase and deploy at least 40 Swarmer-built systems in the first year, with volumes expected to reach 80 or more in the second year. These systems are end-to-end solutions, including radars, cameras, and fire control, with an estimated retail price between $5 million and $6 million per unit.

The establishment of the manufacturing base in Poland signals a potential expansion of the defense industry footprint in Central Europe. The systems are designed to target various threats, including newer jet-powered Shahed-type attack drones, utilizing combat-proven Gatling-type rotary cannons.
