Westchester County Approves Land Acquisition for Affordable Housing Project in White…

The Westchester County Board of Legislators approved the purchase of a parcel of land in White Plains for a new affordable housing project. The county would sell the land to the developer, Fisher Hill 90 Westmoreland LLC, for $1. The project is planned for 1.024 acres and is estimated to cost $114,713,201. The development will consist of 154 units, including studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments, priced for households earning between 30% and 80% of the Area Median Income, with a minimum affordability term of 50 years.

The county approved floating up to $8,810,000 in bonds to cover the land acquisition costs. Additionally, bonds up to $1,562,500 were authorized to fund necessary infrastructure improvements, such as structured parking and drainage systems. Other funding for the project is expected to come from the New York State Housing Finance Agency.
