Uttar Pradesh Launches Bharat Taxi Service in Four Cities

The government of Uttar Pradesh launched the Bharat Taxi cooperative mobility initiative in four cities: Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, and Prayagraj. The service allows taxi, motorcycle, and three-wheeler drivers to register and operate without paying a commission to the platform. The launch was accompanied by the rollout of the Mukhyamantri Krishak Samriddhi Yojana, which reduces interest rates on cooperative loans for farmers.

The initiative provides registered drivers with a social security cover of up to Rs 5 lakh, though the specific eligibility rules were not detailed.
