Argenx SE to Present Phase 3 Results for Autoimmune Myositis Drug
The latest in this situation
How it started
What happened
Argenx SE announced new findings from the Phase 3 ALKIVIA study, which evaluated VYVGART® Hytrulo in patients with autoimmune myositis, specifically immune-mediated necrotizing myopathy (IMNM) and dermatomyositis (DM). The study showed that efgartigimod provides clinically meaningful improvements in both conditions, with patient improvements observed as early as Week 4 and sustained through 52 weeks. The results will be featured as a late-breaking oral presentation during the American College of Rheumatology Convergence 2026.

Why it matters
The study provides the first Phase 3 evidence that targeting FcRn with efgartigimod can benefit patients with autoimmune myositis, a condition for which few treatment options currently exist. The presentation of these results at the American College of Rheumatology will deepen the community’s understanding of how IgG autoantibodies drive IMNM and DM.
