Trump Administration Plans to Remove 760,000 ACA Enrollees Amid Fraud Crackdown

Vice President JD Vance and other Trump administration officials announced plans to remove 760,000 Affordable Care Act enrollees from public healthcare exchanges. This action is part of an administration-wide crackdown on fraud, which includes a newly formed task force to eliminate it. The administration stated that the cancellation of approximately 315,000 enrollments covers the 760,000 individuals. The process involves additional verification for another 419,000 enrollments.

The administration stated the fraud elimination effort could result in $2.2 billion in cost savings. The initiative also includes a six-month suspension on new agents or brokers who sign up enrollees involved in the uncovered fraud.
