Lawsuit Alleges Purchases of Mercedes-Benz and Toyota Vehicles in Defamation Case

A defamation lawsuit was filed demanding N2bn in compensation from the Kogi State Government’s Senior Special Assistant on Cybercrime, Mr Promise Emmanuel. The suit centers on social media posts made on September 20 and 21, 2026, which were allegedly published on Facebook, X, and WhatsApp. The posts reportedly claimed that Chief Austin Usman Okai recorded and sold an audio conversation for hundreds of millions of naira, and subsequently acquired a Mercedes-Benz and a 2025 Toyota Camry.
